Johnny’s adventure

"Learning has no limits." Learning Unity 3D is joyful to me. Let me introduce my first unity 3D project. Title: Johnny’s adventure Scenario: Johnny stocked the island with his friends. He faced the in trouble because he met a dinosaur. He needs to escape the island to use the boat. What I achieved: 9 objects and place it: dinosaur, trees, rock, iguana, gorilla, boat, airplane wineglass and Johnny I created wineglass by using MAYA and embedded into the Unity. I applied the textures, skybox and water. I used 3 audios including...

Port: Assignment #5

Understanding Unity, specifically having missed two classes that helped instruct how to maneuver the online world, is not the easiest pursuit. I first struggled with applying the terrain to my environment. Although utilizing a sand texture was easy enough, my laptop version of Unity did not allow me at first to apply mountains or any type of differentiation for that matter to the flat sand texture. At first, when putting new objects into my Unity scene, I was easily able to move the objects, size them differently and rotate them....

Unity Monster Project

It was quite fun building a space and actually its been some time since I looked at free assets in the asset store they are definitely improving the quality of assets. I've realized how much of a pain in the butt lighting and wind effects are. When it is all said and done both elements make a huge difference on the immersion effect. Looking forward to the next step with interactive objects! I would definitely suggest utilizing prefabs and generators and then giving them your own customizing touch ;). Makes...

Assignment #5: Unity Scene

Here is the link to my unity scene: Doing the scene was a great challenge for me, I did actually used 3-5 terrains for this scene as I didn't want to user to see the empty space where the terrain ends. In addition I had focused too much on the background landscape that I didn't have enough time to add more detail for each terrain. Trying to create the ruins of the village was a daunting task as I had to use a lot of place a lot of houses,...

Assignment #5 – Unity Scene

The concept for my scene was taken from Maurice Sendak's "While The Wild Things Are," when Sendak describes the way Max envisions his room not as a room but as a forest with magical beasts. My Unity scene represents a transitional moment, when bits of "reality"  (i.e. the bed and the desk) in his world are colliding with the world of his imagination. Because I'd never used Unity before, a lot of this assignment was about me learning some of the more basic tools/the UI of the software and adjusting my...

First Unity Project

There were some peaks and valleys in this Unity scene. Not just environmental peaks and valleys, but metaphorical ones too. Firstly, I'm not sure what exactly happened to my project around its exportation. I was saving it pretty consistently, but after I exported I started to tweak things to improve the simulation. A few things I tried tweaking were the volumes of sounds, and the sounds themselves. Music plays in my scene no matter where you are on the map, even though I tried tying it directly to a certain...

Assignment 5: Simple Unity Scene

My first shot at making a simple Unity scene went smoother then expected. I was able to follow Professor Pacheco’s YouTube tutorial to do everything except the sound. I ended up making a weird desert scene with a church and some spooky tombstones and a witch caldron. I tried to attach a witch laugh to the caldron but ran into a few problems. I would attach the sound but when I hit play the sound wouldn’t stay in the inspector. I definitely need to review how to add sounds to...

Prager Assignment 5

For my first VR scene in Unity I wanted to recreate a mountain/lake experience. Growing up I had a mountain house on a lake and the experiences I had while at this house shaped my childhood. As I began I quickly to realize how difficult Unity is in regards to how even the smallest checked button make biggest impact on editing, my scene had to be simplified. I wanted to create a wider mountain range where I could put the homes within the mountains, but I had difficulty shaping the...

Assignment 5

The scene that I created is an arcadia that people live apart from the busy fast pace city life and live in this quite and peaceful place with horses. It is a traditional way of living that their is a well that use for getting the water. There are houses assets that i download from internet.  Also there are horses, trees and mountains. The house are surrounded by the tree and mountain that create a little space in on the terrain. The skybox is a starry sky which that I...

Assignment 5 – Unity Scene

This is the first scene I've created in Unity.  It was definitely a lot more challenging than I expected.  As you watch the video, you walk through a campsite on the side of a mountain.  There are two tents, a campfire and a USPS mailbox.  I added that in there just for fun because that is probably the last place you would expect a mailbox to be.  Who would come all the way over there to pick up the mail? I added in a special sky effect to make it...
