THE MAIN CONCEPT

The main idea of this VR video is to highly immerse audience in a Chinese classical dance and enjoy the beauty of colorful long sleeves.  The video will follow two dancers who will dance around the camera.

THE SCENE

1)     In a large hallway with great lightings

It is the great time for audience to take a closer look to the dancer. The camera will capture both the overall dancing movements and details of the costume and dancer.

2)     The camera will be at an average human height of between 5’4 and 5’10 in the whole journey.

LIGHTING

The location will be in an indoor gallery with great lightings for experiencers to enjoy the amazing beauty of sleeves dancing.

AUDIO

The audio will include the natural sound of sleeves and a background music.

EXPERIENCE

The experience of this VR video will include the untold beauty of Chinese classic sleeves dance by following every movement of dancing.

STORY DISCOVERY

The dancer is the main character in the fictional story. She is a very low-key, good student at Syracuse University. She loves dancing and Chinese culture, but isn’t brave enough to dance in front of people and show such a different her. The experiencer will follow her step and movements of sleeves to enjoy the beauty of dancing and the struggle of her psychological activities. In the end, the dancer will surpass the fear and move to the outside. The light will become much brighter to show a different her. Be the one you want to be.

WHERE IS MY HEAD

For most of the time, the experiencer will think they are standing because the dancer has many diverse movements and the experiencer needs to move around to follow her.

(But I’m also thinking put the experiencer in the middle of the scene, to let them think they ARE the dancer and surround them with colorful sleeves.)
