Final Project: Gabriel Acosta

The goal of my project was to make a cooking show for beginners that made them feel at home and comfortable with the kitchen. The result was a 12 minute cooking show titled Cooking From All Angles. Proposal: http://wp.me/p5y0Rc-1pp The first step in the process was thinking about how to give the viewer the right angles that give you that feeling of being next to someone without boring the audience. The experience was deliberately slow pace because we didn't want to glance over anything to ensure beginner cooks are comfortable....

Independent Study: Gabriel Acosta

In order to improve my knowledge of 360-degree video, I attended the Ambisonic microphone workshop. The workshop was divided into two parts. The first was a short introduction to what the ambisonic microphone is and the second was an explanation of the 788t the style of recorder that is needed to use an ambisonic microphone. An ambisonic microphone is one that has 4 sub-cardiod mics in a tetrahedral directions. This means that it records in all directions, therefore making it the 360 camera of microphones. The second half focused on...

Assigntment 8: Lysol

Doing photogrammetry was a learning process. I first tried doing it in a room with a white tiled floor and no information was coming into the camera. I then tried it in one with a black floor and everything was better. I was disappointing how it looked once I cropped it on Trnio because the Lysol letters stopped being lined up for some reason. As you can see they are lined up in the screenshot below but not in the final product. Below is the final product: Lysol Assignment 8...

Assignment 4: Gabriel Acosta

I started with the idea of creating a film noir style scene where everything is lit by very hard lights and there is a lot of places with shadows. Although it was difficult to understand at first, I moved smoothly through the basics by the end of this assignment. Things I tried: I wanted to try in this scene was to have different types of textures on the terrain and have it look realistic. The reason this was a goal was because every time that you spray a texture on...

The video will be taken outdoors during the day, and there will be some movement near and far from the camera. I plan on the setting being at an off-leash dog beach in Jamesville. I'll be recording audio of the dogs running around and playing with a separate microphone. I hope to virtually transport the viewer into a stress-relieving environment...

Assignment 2: 360 Video Pitch

EXPERIENCE I have recently started to cook and having somebody next to me guide me through the process made me feel really comfortable. I think that through this project others would be able to get a similar experience. I think that this would make people more comfortable because they are able to look at everything the person is doing in full detail. If you are not interested in learning how to cook then I don't think that this is something that you would watch. STORY DISCOVERY I was thinking of...
