Whitepaper Start VR- VR Noir: A Day Before The Night

Impressed by VR Noir, I reached out Nathan Anderson, COO & Executive Producer of Start VR to interview. Unfortunately, he is too busy to be interviewed now and promised to do so in Jan. He sent me some links to help me understand this project and I'd like to share some new ideas after speaking with him. Here is my whitepaper on VR Noir.   Start VR is an Australia-based virtual reality company. Founded in 2015, it is dedicated to delivering high-quality virtual reality content and production studio devoted to...

Final project: VR for PR-Your colorful adventure

As a PR girl, I made this 360 video a PR one to raise awareness of dressing colorfully to lift the spirits. I shot some scenes in October when I went hiking. And I used those scenic parts as a lead to give the audience a feeling that colorful landscape can lighten up your world. So does your outfit. Then I shot some follow-up videos, wearing a light green skirt and a red skirt to represent the colorful leaves. In the end, I showed the big idea – introduce bold...

Independent Learning: a color test

My final project is named “Your colorful adventure”, which is like a color test. It’s a public relations-based video. The big idea is focused on increasing the awareness of dressing colorfully to lift the spirits. We tend to wear black and white for work and sometimes we feel blue and don’t want to dress too fancy. Why not dress colorfully to lift the spirits? In order to do so, I googled how to changed colors in Premiere and watched some tutorials, like Tutorial Adobe Premiere Pro CC - Episode 17...

Assignment 7 Dancing boy – Sharon Shi

I created a dancing boy to make him dancing toward the house and return. First, I meant to create a girl dancing to that boy. But it didn't seem to work well. This assignment is quite creative and interesting. Professor Pachoco and my classmates all helped me a lot to make it happen! Can't wait to start my final project with Unity, though it would be hard.

Assignment 5: The Unity Scene

It’s always exciting to create an imaginative scene. I’ve actually created two. One is about a desert adventure, where a cat warrior and some fighters go through a desert nowhere. But somehow I cannot export it. Even though I tried to fix every possible error and replaced a new First Person Controller, it didn’t work. Disappointingly, I abandoned that idea and recreated a new one, where a determined girl and her pet – a cute kitten explored through mountains. I love the crystal clear sky and the two characters. The...

Assignment Four: Crouse Bell Tower at Sunset

My team video is about Crouse Bell Tower at sunset. For the first attempt, we shot the outdoor views of the sunset. Last week we successfully contacted the tower guide to shooting the terrific interior view. The fascinating part of our video is to give the audiences a usual experience of appreciating the bell sounds inside the tower. As I have shot the sunset before, this time, Stephen and I helped to stitch and edit videos. First, we were surprised to find that there were a bunch of watermarks in...

Assignment 2: 360 Video Pitch by Sharon

Gone are the days when people would like to spend a whole night to watch TV. How fast all those technologies have been changing the world! Virtual reality is just about to take us all to a brand new world. The most compelling part of virtual reality is to transport one’s perspective to another. So how about look at the place we live in again in a bird’s eye? Syracuse is a cozy city, which we are already familiar with. However, have you ever imagined how the city would look...

Assignment 1: My VR Experience

I still remember that moment. Exhausted after a whole day design class, I was immediately caught attention by a girl wearing a black goggle. She waved in the air, exclaiming and walking around. “A rainbow,” she cried. Finally, I was told that the goggle she wore named virtual reality (VR) gear. I was totally mesmerized by VR since then. I had a chance to experience more in virtual reality Storytelling class. It was so awesome to wear the VR goggles, where I was brought to a brand new world. Generally...
