Assignment Four: Crouse Bell Tower at Sunset

Assignment Four: Crouse Bell Tower at Sunset

My team video is about Crouse Bell Tower at sunset. For the first attempt, we shot the outdoor views of the sunset. Last week we successfully contacted the tower guide to shooting the terrific interior view.

The fascinating part of our video is to give the audiences a usual experience of appreciating the bell sounds inside the tower. As I have shot the sunset before, this time, Stephen and I helped to stitch and edit videos. First, we were surprised to find that there were a bunch of watermarks in the rendered video. Further examining, we found that’s because we used the trial version. We tried more than 15 computers in the two labs until Cass told us we should use the local user to log in. Luckily, we fixed it! Because of a lack of light inside the tower, some footage was too dark to stitch. When stitching together, it didn’t take us that long to do so, though the rendering process was time-consuming. At the same time, we altered the Nadir patch in AutoPano. Additionally, we brought the separate sequences into Premiere with the Nadir below. Finally, our team added transitions, titles and modified the whole nice video.

It is a definitely invaluable experience for me to produce a 360 video, especially with my lovely team! The whole process is creative and fun. I helped make the Nadir, stitch and render the footage and edit them in Premiere. I did enjoy it a lot! Thank you, my awesome team! Thank you, Prof. Dan Pacheco!
