Couwenberg – Independent Learning Requirement

I did my independent learning on fan bases in the music industry. This may not seem very related to my project but in fact it is essential to the whole thing. I designed to be an immersive experience for fans of artists. I have learned that the key to getting fans to be loyal followers is to make them feel like they personally know the artist. I did my research via a book I have been reading this semester called “Get More Fans” by Jess Cannon and Tom Thomas. More...

Final Project Couwenberg – Meet Sky Club: An Immersive Music Experience

Viar360 Link: https://app.viar360.com/media?leaf=Xz2FYlyioESr   For my final project I created an interactive experience based around a band named Sky Club. The experience is centered around the creation and life of a song. It starts with an intro to the group and then brings the viewer into the main producer’s dorm room where the group creates all of their music. From there the viewer goes into the official music suites in Newhouse to master the song. After you explore the studios, the viewer leaves and goes to the concert to watch...

Importing Issues With Gear360 Action Director

While stitching my videos from the Gear 360 for my final I came across a recurring error. I found that some of my clips would not import into the library and the following error would pop up: "An error occurred while opening this media file in the library. It may be because the file is broken, an unsupported format, protected video content, or for another reason..." This error was especially weird because some of the files that could open were clips I shot just minutes after videos that had imported...

Assignment 8: VR Final Pitch Couwenberg

I will be pitching a VR experience that takes the viewer through the process of a songs creation, performance and promotion. Utilizing VIAR 360, the viewer will be able to explore the different parts of this process and be exposed to multiple parts of the artist's process. Couwenberg Assignment 7 -Take 2

Another attempt at Mixamo. My logic was working without the animation and the animation worked without the movement. It was previewing fine and working with play automatically but they did not work together. Better luck next time for me. https://youtu.be/HPUVjiMPeqk

Assignment 5: Simple Unity Scene

My first shot at making a simple Unity scene went smoother then expected. I was able to follow Professor Pacheco’s YouTube tutorial to do everything except the sound. I ended up making a weird desert scene with a church and some spooky tombstones and a witch caldron. I tried to attach a witch laugh to the caldron but ran into a few problems. I would attach the sound but when I hit play the sound wouldn’t stay in the inspector. I definitely need to review how to add sounds to...

VR Research Presentation: OneRepublic 360 Music Video

I am presenting on a revolutionary music video that is made in 360. The video is the first major narrative music video done in 360 by a major artist posted on Vevo. As a music industry minor, I think VR is going to be really big in the music industry and this video is definitely the first of many 360 music videos that will hit the market in the next few years. Assignment 4: Improving Crouse Bell Tower 360 Video

This week my team and I finally got to go to the top of the Crouse Bell tower to get our interior shots. As the Executive Producer of this project, I was able to get in contact with a Chimemaster and schedule time to have her play for us. It was an amazing experience going up to the bells. I was on set for both of our shoots (exterior last week and interior in the tower this past weekend). My job on set was dealing with the cameras, syncing them,...
