ASSIGNMENT 5 + 6 : Britt Belo

ASSIGNMENT 5 + 6 : Britt Belo

For these next assignments with Unity, I wanted to challenge myself and create something really in depth. Inspired by the weather that the east coast has been with hit with over the past few weeks, I created an Interactive wonderland... complete with Mountains, penguins, a few cheeky characters and more!

Using a character I designed in Mixamo, Snow Guy (who is seen crouched in the snow new to the medieval log cabin ), I created a funny little scene that is triggered by walking by the Snowman. The scene shows the woman, Shae creeping on Snow Guy, and giggling in an attempt to scare him. She's unsuccessful, but maybe next time. The scene was originally supposed to show Shae pretending to throw a snow ball at Snow Guy, but Mixamo only had the option to download the characters with animation for a small range of motions or poses... mostly walking or sitting. In the future I'd love to learn how to create these motions on my own.

If you walk deeper into the scene you'll run into a group of penguins waddling in place, being watched by "The boss," who is  This scene was loosely inspired by the title from the movie "March of the Peguins."

The hardest pasrt about this project was not creating the logic within playmaker, but actually being patient and making sure that you paid attention to detail. It took me about 10 tries ( and an hiur and a half) to get Shea to move toward Snow guy solely because I didnt drag the game object onto the correct slot a specifc way.

The program also took about to hours to build the scene, well come close to building the scne, before crashing... That’s why I had to create a screen cast from with Unity instead, in hopes of avoiding that situation again.
