Britt Belo : Independent Learning

For my Independent learning I choose to Focus on the Oculus app "Quill." Quill is very similar to the app SKETCH in that you're able to full immerse yourself within the work of art you are creating or a work of art someone has created within the application. The difference between SKETCH and Quill is that Quill was created with the intention of animating and telling storys through these works of art created within the app. Quill allows you export the characters or sketches drawn into an .fbx format...

Britt Belo Final Project

For my Final project I thought it was important to connect everything that I’ve learned and expolored in this class to my overall body of work. As a senior fashion design major, the annual senior collection fashion show is the pentacle of my career here at Syracuse University. With this show each senior is tasked to develop a collection from scratch to present to our professors, peers, and future employers. In the months leading up to the show, the process of building this collection becomes your entire life but in...

Britt Belo Assignment 8: A rock and Shoes?

So, I didn't find the process to be too tooo painful when it came to capturing the models. I made sure I had good lighting a fairly clean background and a lot of space to move. The first model I tried was a pair of shoes I made for my senior collection. I wanted to do these to get a feel of what my final project would be like, especially because a lot of my pieces incorporate wire. http://<div class="sketchfab-embed-wrapper"><iframe width="640" height="480" src="https://sketchfab.com/models/b092843b88014ea48329a101d234b80c/embed" frameborder="0" allowvr allowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen="true" webkitallowfullscreen="true" onmousewheel=""></iframe> <p...

ASSIGNMENT 5 + 6 : Britt Belo

For these next assignments with Unity, I wanted to challenge myself and create something really in depth. Inspired by the weather that the east coast has been with hit with over the past few weeks, I created an Interactive wonderland... complete with Mountains, penguins, a few cheeky characters and more! Using a character I designed in Mixamo, Snow Guy (who is seen crouched in the snow new to the medieval log cabin ), I created a funny little scene that is triggered by walking by the Snowman. The scene...

An Interstellar Fail

For our first assignment with Unity I sought out to create a space inspired by a specific scene from Christopher Nolan's, Interstellar. The scene I drew inspiration shows the main character, plumiting through space, time and various dimensions, and landing in what we might consider 5th dimension that we have not yet discovered. The space is surrounded by grid lines, stars, and darkness but gives off an alluring curiosity. With the space I created I attempted to use a similar gridded background to set the scene but branched off to create a...

A Whole New World.

I remember the first time I experienced VR, it was before I technically even knew what VR was... and even though I don’t constitute the previous experience to a positive one ( I passed out in the middle of The Mission Impossible Rollercoaster, one of Disneyworld’s most popular attractions) its still amazing to see how far this method of experience has come with in the past decade or so. Its even more exciting to imagine where this new realm can go, and can take us. Over the past few months...
