Assignment 4: Creating a Unity Scene

Assignment 4: Creating a Unity Scene

The scene I created was aimed to be a very romantic and dreamy place. I added many 3D objects like a horse, swing, water fountain, trees, a mushroom house, a wishing well, some flowers, and a bridge. I attached audio to the horse galloping, the fountain water running and the squeaky swing going back and forth. I added a fantasy pink and purple sky to set the mood, but in order to find the perfect sky, I had to go through quite a few. The most challenging part will have to be the weeping tree. The leaves and the tree trunk are separate entities and so I have to put them together. The leaves ended up being somewhere extremely far from the trunk, and dragging the leaves to the trunk was not working. I had to set exact coordinates for the leaves to match the coordinates of the trunk. I also had to excessively enlarge the leaves to about 2000. I was able to choose what color wood I wanted, as well as the color of the leaves depending on the season, so that was nice.

The kind of story I would like to tell is one that transports the viewer to a land of happiness and fantasy. To me it screams romantic getaway. I think it would be exceptionally great for someone to see in VR. From a hectic day at work, this can transport a person to a place full of tranquility. The stories can range from romance to fantasy. In this type of setting, an adult would enjoy it as much as a kid would.

In an ideal world, the user would walk up to the objects that interests him or her. They would walk up to the horse and see if it makes any sounds or movements, walk to the mushroom house and see if they could go inside, or even walk over to the bridge and see if they can cross it.

This world is very open and straight forward. Everything you need to see is in clear sight. The user will discover everything there is by simply walking up to them.
