While creating my new world, I must admit that many mistakes were made and a ton of tutorials had to be watched. Overall, this exercise provided me with a wonderful experience. Knowing that it was my first time using Unity, I wanted to create something simple, yet exciting. As you can probably tell by now, I was highly influenced by the movie King Kong. As I designed my first terrain and skybox, I wanted to incorporate the "galaxy/ horror genre. That being said, I created the skybox with a space theme,  the terrain, as a jungle feel and used a horror theme, to tie it all together. I incorporated a treasure box and two gargoyles as well. These objects helped define the giant gorilla's character. For example, If anyone would step upon his land and try to steal his treasure, the gorilla will defientely find you and rip you to shreds. The music was very important as well. I wanted that "horror" feel. Even though, I enjoy my overall music, I want to add more of a sound bite or effect to the gorilla.

Things That Worked

While designing my world, I realized that in order to use this software at its advantage, one must be completely patient and try everything. I really enjoyed using the presets and importing objects from the Unity Store. However, trying to use the First Person Camera and Controller, was a bit difficult. When I first used Unity, I could not help but realize that my entire game mode and camera, was falling in the sky. Thankfully, I figured out the trick and finally fixed it.

Things That Did Not Work

Of course, I ran into several issues. When I tried to add audio bites, especially for individual characters, the audio would not play. As I stated before, I did have a hard time with the FPC and its placement. Thankfully, I resolved it.

Thought Exercise

I strongly believe that there are multiple possibilities and stories that can be illustrated in my world. The first story that I had in mind was about a dream land and even a horror story. As I mentioned before, I want to further this project and turn it into a full blown horror game. Of course, the gorilla will be the main character, but I would like to add a female character and possibly some humans. As the user moves through the scene, he or she would stumble upon a treasure chest, while walking past the two gargoyles. This treasure chest will activate the gorilla and trigger the primate to become possessive and angry. While angry, the gorilla will chase the user. The treasure chest will not only have money in it, but it will also provide a way to get off go the island. For example, a transportation device.
