LaQuin Alexander – Assignment 6

Here is assignment 6. For some reason when I record the screencast it doesn't record sound with it. As part of my scene when you walk into the tent Blurred Lines by Robin Thick starts to play but quick time isn't recording the sound. I promise the sound does work. Also I couldn't get my capsule to move. It was supposed to move from box to box once you walk into the trigger.   https://youtu.be/yOhS2fcm_5k

LaQuin Alexander & Bria Holness – Final Project

Here is our final project. A 360 dance video featuring Syracuse University's Outlaws Dance Troupe. Enjoy! Bria: Organized shoot Shot scenes alongside LaQuin Stitched first location   LaQuin: Shot scenes alongside Bria Stitched second location Edited everything together in premiere   We co-stitched the third location because it was giving us a lot of ghosting problems. We took turns trying to fix it. This was a fun experience and we think the video came out great.

LaQuin Alexander – Independent Learning Requirement

For my independent learning requirement I watched a series of videos from the making360 youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/fabiensoudiere/featured I specifically watched their stitching 360 video playlist. The videos went into deep detail (more advanced than my level) but it was very informative. Watching these video helped me figure out some things with regard to my final 360 video project. I was constantly putting  a bunch of markers all over my screen, but learned that less is more (and works better). It showed me how to use the transform tools to move each...

LaQuin Alexander – Grad Student Requirement

Here is an interview I conducted with Andrew Goldstein, the co-founder of Otherworld Interactive. Otherworld is dedicated to building the most transcendent worlds for entertainment, music, games, and advertising industries. Goldstein is a graduate of USC's Interactive Media graduate program. He gave me great insight into his company and how they do things. He talked about their selection process, and his stance on investors and why they don't need them. The interview was very informative and I learned a lot.

Assignment 5 – Quin’s World

I really underestimated how long it would take to build a simple world in Unity. At first I had no clue what I wanted to build or where to start. I wanted to build something that I could actually see myself in. I remember the days when Sims was popular and I channeled that. I wanted to create something simple and represent a real community. For some reason I love the trees, even though in real life I'm not an outdoors person. My inner designer got the best of me...

Assignment 3/4 – 360 video – Quin, Carla, Thomas, Benjamin

I want to collaborate with one of the dance groups on campus and re-create a similar video (like the one below) using their choreography to a different song. When someone puts on a google cardboard (or another head set) they will be transported to an all white room, surrounded by dancers performing a piece of choreography and interacting with them (interacting with the camera by making eye contact, motioning for them to join in on the dancing, etc). Because the dancers would be performing the choreography in a circle around...

Assignment 1 – LaQuin Alexander

Virtual Reality is something that has really intrigued me lately. This growing field has so much potential and can go in so many directions. From my virtual reality experiences, I'm learning that virtual reality can be used not just for creating new worlds, but can have real social impacts on society. When I tried the Oculus Rift, I was transported to a farm. I was able to walk around freely and learn more information about things as I approached it. It was really cool and made me think about so...
