Assignment 4- Erika Zoffer

As I am writing this from hour 5 in the computer lab with Juan, we are still contemplating how we could possibly find another solution to add our nadir into our work. We have run into every problem from having to restitch a video manually to trying 10 different ways to save our Premier file as a png. Yes, Juan frame by frame figured out how we could stitch a scene without synchronizing to audio or motion. This was necessary since, similar to the problem that the team had trying to film in the dome, the patterns on the ceiling of the basketball court and the multiple bouncing basketballs in the room confused the software. Additionally, as we continually try to save the distorted nadir as a png. it fails to appear in any of the places we attempt to save it--even though we receive a notification that it has saved.

Our problems, however, did not start with editing but through this process we also learned about problems with filming. In our first attempt, we tried to film in a room at Urban life. Because the room was too dark, even with the aperture all the way open, we did not get useable footage. We could not know this, because the cameras have no way to preview.

Juan and I spent so much time on this project, filming twice and editing for hours. The final project has some ghosting issues and it's far from perfect but we have certainly learned a lot in this process that we could use in future projects. This has been an exciting process to learn but also an exhausting and frustrating one--likely technology will develop and many of our user issues will be eliminated. Until that time, here we are, trouble-shooting.
