Assignment 2

Assignment 2

Scene: An interrogation between a hardened detective and his partner and the criminal they've been after but can't pin down.

What Happens: The hardened detective enters the room and begins grilling the perp who's handcuffed to the table. The two take turns grilling the suspect in the bad cop, good cop style. The perp despite being handcuffed to the table is completely nonchalant and dismissive of the two throughout the scene. The criminal doesn't reveal much but does ask what time it is multiple times throughout the scene. Gradually the pair gets  more and more frustrated that they can't get any answers. (One of them slams the table, the other starts pacing around the room).

Finally the perp asks what time it is one more time. After the detectives answer the criminal smiles and tells them he's so calm because he's going to escape. Right about....now.

The lights flicker, we hear the door opening and two loud bangs. When the lights come back on the criminal is gone and both cops are on the ground.

Pros:

-It should be easy to shoot. Because the subjects are sitting down we can angle them so they're not on the stitching lines.

-Since the action takes place in a single small room we will be able to control the lighting

-Simple motions. The criminal can move a little bit in his chair and the detectives can pace around enough to show that the scene is a living thing with motion but they won't move so much that the audience will be distracted.

Cons:

-It could be kind of hard to make people interested in a few people in a room for an extended period of time so the scene will have to be short

-It might be hard to get good sound for the scene

-The lights flickering could be difficult to pull off depending on where we film it.
