Final Project – Bria Holness and LaQuin Alexander

I had the pleasure of working alongside LaQuin to produce this 360 interactive music video featuring Outlaws Dance Team. It was not the easiest thing getting a whole dance troupe to focus or to figure out formations around the the 360 rig, but once we got going, it was such a fun shoot to be on. We filmed in 3 different locations including the quarry, the front of the water tower, and the back of the water tower. I organized the shoot, shot all scenes with LaQuin, stitched the first location and helped stitch the third location. LaQuin stitched the second location, helped with stitching the third location, and edited the stitched scenes in premiere.

The third location, the front of the water tower, gaveĀ us a lot of ghosting problems so we decided to co-stitch and take turns trying to fix it. We had a lot of issues syncing because of noise issues, which caused a lot of ghosting issues. However, once we got a good sync, most of the ghosting became pretty unnoticeable or at least not as bad. We actually had a fourth location but when we went to shoot there was a huge festival going on so we had to move on to the next location, being that we had a certain block of time with the team. Looking back, however, I am actually glad we did not shoot there because the scene would not have fit in with the other locations and really may have thrown the whole vibe of the video off. Furthermore, we had a fifth location in which we planned to introduce the whole experience as if it were like a lazer tag game with rules and regulations. We shot this scene in studio D but when we tried to stitch it, the black background really threw everything off and made it VERY hard for us to troubleshoot. Therefore, after several hours of trying to fix it, we decided to scrap the scene and just use the audio, which you can hear at the beginning of the video.
This experience was definitely a fun one but came with a lot of frustration and need for patience. Nonetheless, we think the video came out great. Enjoy!
