Interview–Sustainability Virtual Reality in Bird Library

This project is the result of a CALS grant from SU Sustainability Office that was awarded to Amber Bartosh (Architecture) and Mark Povinelli (Engineering & Computer Science). Students in their collaborative class have created a responsive, interactive installation “The Climate Disruptor Awareness Generator” meant to engage others in learning about sustainability and demonstrate to students the impact of climate change. It will have virtual and augmented reality components.            The two faculty approached Dean of the Libraries David Seaman early in...

Final Project__ Concert Choir

This is a 360 video of my concert choir class. I spent lots of my good time in this class, and practiced hard to do my best. So I want to take a 360 video of our class and the concert as a good memory. There are two parts of this video-----Training and concert. And I make some transition to make it looks more nature. The only thing disappointed me of this video is the resolution, it is not clear and sometimes I can't even recognize faces of my friends.

Assignment8

This is about a treasure box in a Middle Ages house.  Outside the house is a garden with trees and flowers, but I only record the inside part because it's kind of difficult to control the first perspective to enter the big house. In the house, there are several old pieces of furniture such as a bookshelf, chair, bed and the most important---- the treasure box. When I get close to the box, it would open automatically, when I walk away from it ,it would close. The only problem is...

Unity Assignment: Teddy Square

This is a Teddy planet, they live in a community.  In the Jeep, is the the Teddy Policeman, who's in charge of the security of the community. Two bears are talking at the center of the square, talking about the weather. There is another bear sitting on the bench reading a book and enjoying the moonlight and peaceful atmosphere. Where I created the scene with unity, I occurred some problems. It took me three times to render the scene, something lost when I rendered it. As a result, I have...

Assignment 5: Midterm Week

This week is the busiest week before spring break, lots of students are preparing for their midterm exams and project, so I decided to shoot the night of a busy midterm week in the library to explore what everyone is doing. Also, the library is different with other days because of the tents set up on both the first and the second floor. These tents are set to call for the protection of Indian culture. In the last scene, you can even see people lying in the pink tent.   In...

Assignment2: My 360 Pitch

I like animals very much especially dogs,so I would like to shoot a 360 VR video about little animals. I think the advantage of 360 videos is that we can see everything around us, feeling like we are right on the scene, and there must be very interesting to shoot those adorable puppies because with the 360 cameras we can see every puppy in the room. I know there is an animal shelter nearby, and I want to shoot both puppies resting inside and playing outside scenes. I think it...

Assignment 1 — Sijia Le

Actually, the class on Wednesday evening is not my first VR class, I have been interested in Virtual Reality technology since Prof. Pacheco introduced it to us in the Industry Force class last semester. But, I still remember how excited I was the first time I experienced these VR headsets.          I tried the google cardboard first, seeing the 360 videos downloaded from Youtube. It was a video of a sea. It felt so real like I was really sitting by the sea,...
