Final Assignment – Audra Linsner

I started filming for this project at the end of September. Currently, I’m in a research class about the Haudenosaunee Great Law of Peace. One of the things we were interested in is how the Haudenosaunee navigate conflict resolution and how lacrosse is a part of that. I’ve played lacrosse for a long time, so it was really interesting to get to know the history of the game and how different it Is now than how it is played by the people who created it. I set out to tell...

Audra Linsner Assignment 6

For this assignment, I stayed relatively simple while I tried to figure out how to trigger an object while using animation. I had trouble using the character I created in Fuse, so I opted for a pre-made one in Mixamo. The biggest problems I came across were trying to make the sound and animation stop when I wanted it to, which I still can't figure out.

Assignment 5 – Interactive Unity Scene, Audra Linsner

Here is my interactive Unity scene. I have two triggers, the first which triggers multiple objects, and the second which is supposed to trigger a sound. I can't figure out how to play that sound overtop of the one that I attached to the terrain, but the skeleton does make a sound, I swear. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Z9dGP0HAmwc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Audra Linsner Assignment 4

My video Unity and I are not friends. We fought the entire time I built this assignment. I did, however, end up learning a lot. My scene is a mountainous forest. It’s a short little maze with a wise, large horse midway through, and a tavern at the end. It has a wispy skybox, and was supposed to be surrounded by ambient forest sounds (more on that later). What worked: Copying/pasting trees, multiple at a time, which helped save time and made it look a little bit better. Also, organizing...

Assignment #3 Audra Linsner

My individual role in this project involved determining the location to shoot at and going onsite with Nadia and Gabe to film. I also checked out a camera later to be able to film that weekend, but Gabe didn’t respond on Saturday, and then he filmed the next day by himself because I had a training, so it all worked out! As far as post-production, after Nadia worked on editing, I worked on the audio.  Video

Assignment 2 – Audra Linsner

Audra Linsner Assignment 2 VR Storytelling   Idea: Shooting a 360-degree experience of the Civil War re-enactments + other displays of historical interest at the Clay Historic Associations Annual Fall Festival.   Experience: This could be an interesting project for history buffs or anyone who isn’t physically able to access the park for a historical re-enactment. While this video wouldn’t inherently be political, I also think it is timely given the fact that a lot of people in our country have forgotten that the Civil War was a war fought...

Assignment 1 – My VR Experience

By Audra Linsner Prior to this class, my experience with VR has been minimal. I had my own Google Cardboard, and had checked out a few NYT VR stories (specifically the one on refugees they had), which were one of the things that piqued my interest. First, I tried out Google Earth VR on Monday's class. That was really neat! I wish I could've spent a lot more time doing it. On Wednesday's class, I got to experience a few more types of VR. I started out with my cardboard, on...
