Final Project: Audrey Lee

For my final project I knew that I really wanted to explore photogrammetry and somehow incorporate a journalism/reporting component to it. Initially I wanted to do the project surrounding sculpture and 3D art but after a series of unfortunate events, I decided to tell a story through footwear instead. My final project showcases four different pairs of shoes, each with a different story to tell. I used Photogrammetry softwares Photoscan and Trnio to complete my models (read more about my struggles and triumphs in my independent learning post), and I...

Independent Study- Audrey Lee

For my final project, I dove deep into the world of photogrammetry and learned a ton, both through internet tutorials and trial and error. I'll be comparing some of the different tools you can use to complete photogrammetry, which include Autodesk, Photoscan and Trnio, plus, some tips, and the issues I had. For starters, Autodesk isn't compatible with the Mac OS, so I quickly turned to Photoscan, which costs $179 for the standard version and About $3500 for Photoscan Pro. AGIsoft, Photoscan's developer, offers a free 30-day trial, which is...

Photogrammetry Assignment

Dog Model by alee107 on Sketchfab I attempted to download and use meshlab to edit out the flooring on my model but was unfortunately unable to unzip the trnio files to be compatible with the software. I really enjoyed working with photogrammetry and want to incorporate it into my final project because I think it would be really interesting to use photogrammetry to copy artists' work into Unity and use playmaker to have them talk about their pieces.

Assignment 5: Interactive Playmaker Scene Audrey Lee

For Assignment 5 I went back to the Unity scene I had previously made and decided to build on the characters I had developed. I initially faced obstacles with setting up my trigger objects and the objects that would be moving, however I got back on track and was able to organize the events so they actually worked. My scene depicts two tigers which, once the FPC approaches a cube (the trigger), make their way to the water well and back to another tiger after the trigger is approached multiple...

Assignment 4: Creating a Scene in Unity Audrey Lee

I wanted to create a scene that was unlike any other and so I chose a very colorful terrain texture, which featured a psychedelic pattern. This, combined with the scene’s blue and pink galactic skybox made the scene feel very trippy and confusing, which was the vibe I was trying to achieve. While I was able to insert ambient rain forest sounds in the background of my scene, I had a lot of trouble placing the roaring tiger noises because they would sound off at the wrong times (typically just...

This concept is compelling because a 360...

Assignment 1- My VR Experience Audrey Lee

My first experience with virtual reality occurred in my freshman year COM 107 class when a classmate brought in their own VR headset and it was subsequently passed around for each student to try. This experience paled in comparison to my time experimenting in the innovation lab, which featured several different types of VR devices. Some of my favorite storytelling techniques included a music video for the song ‘Kids’ by Onerepublic which worked very well in VR. It felt very surreal being in the scene, almost as if I was...
