Peaks Coffee Co. – From Green to Cup

Peaks Coffee Co. – From Green to Cup

A center for community, a local business champion, and the spearhead of millennial culture, the coffee shops and roasteries that dot nearly every small town in the U.S. are landmarks for everyone. They bring people together from all backgrounds to gather around a drink that is common to much of the world: coffee. To highlight this, I would like to produce a 360 tour of Peaks Coffee Company. Peaks is run by a young couple who supply over 30 cafés and coffee shops in Upstate NY. They roast in their own café in Cazenovia.

Our mission: Show how powerful coffee can be in a community and how it has helped Syracuse develop in a post-industrial world.

How we'll do it: We'll get people behind the bar, experiencing coffee from a new perspective. We'll also aim to experiment with up-high and low-to-the-ground shots that tell our story more vividly.

Postscript: The one regret I have after producing this project is one shot which slipped my mind that day–the one that now seems the most obvious. If we were to do this again, I would have ensured that we get at least one shot from head level that stood in front of our little crew that regularly gathered in front of the countertop as Sam demoed his coffees. It would have been nice to get something normal from where a customer normally stands. Obvious, right?
